For over a year, we have been searching real estate throughout the city to identify the best property for Cincinnati Classical Academy. We have been targeting major transportation corridors with easy access and properties with a good ‘campus’ feel. By Ohio law, we are restricted to locating a charter school in a public school district rated by the Ohio Department of Education as “challenged.”
While we pursue multiple options, our preferred candidate is property owned by the Village of Evendale, located at 10600 Reading Rd., 45241. This property is located just a mile from I-75, directly north of the Evendale Municipal Complex. It is also just a few miles from I-275, I-71, and Ronald Reagan Highway. The CCA board has met several times with Evendale municipal staff, who have entertained our interest in their property.
Before the Evendale Council renders a decision on the property, Mayor Finan and the Evendale Community Improvement Corporation have requested a public meeting, which will be held on Thursday April 15, 7:00 pm, at the Evendale Recreation Center Gym (10500 Reading Rd.). This will provide an opportunity for elected officials and interested citizens to learn about CCA and have their questions answered. The meeting will begin with a 30-minute presentation about the school, followed by an open forum of question and answers.
We invite you to please consider attending to show your support. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about CCA and Hillsdale College’s BCSI program, and also to talk with fellow citizens who are concerned about the future of education. All members of the public are welcome to attend; you do not need to be a resident of Evendale.
