Dr. Wesley Peters, Ph.D.
Middle School Science Teacher
- Bachelor of Science, Astronomy | Case Western Reserve University
- Master of Science, Physics | Georgia State University
- PhD, Astronomy | Georgia State University
A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Wesley Peters developed a deep love for science and astronomy, nurtured by his time spent volunteering at the Mt. Lookout Observatory. After graduating with a B.S. in astronomy and minor in piano from Case Western, he pursued a PhD in Astronomy at Georgia State. His thesis focused on an under-studied population of galaxies important to our understanding of dark matter, and introduced a new technique for measuring galactic morphological features. As a graduate student, Dr. Peters also taught undergraduate Astronomy labs and was awarded the highest rating among all teaching assistants. Dr. Peters is passionate about eliciting excitement and wonder about the universe in students and is excited to join CLASSICAL to teach in a classical setting. Outside of astronomy, Dr. Peters has a love for classical piano and Latin. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys.
