Enrollment FAQ’s
Re-enrollment for current student and open enrollment for new students for the 2025-26 school year will begin in November.
Who is eligible to attend Cincinnati Classical Academy?
Any Ohio resident entering grades K-9 in 2025-26 is eligible to apply to attend Cincinnati Classical Academy tuition-free. (The State of Ohio provides funding for Ohio residents but not for out-of-state residents.)
Which grade levels are offered at Cincinnati Classical Academy?
CLASSICAL opened in 2022 by offering kindergarten through sixth grade. We are offering grades K-9 for the 2025-26 school year. We will continue to add a grade each year until K-12 is served.
Is it too late to enroll my child for the 2024-25 school year?
No, you can still apply. Students will be placed on the waitlist for their respective grade if no seats are available.
Is there an Open House for parents to learn more about the school?
Open House will be held on November 7, 2024. This will be the best way to learn about our classical curriculum, meet other families, and the talk teachers and staff. Please register for our upcoming open house.
How old does my child need to be to apply for kindergarten?
Students must turn five-years-old by September 30, 2025, in order to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. No exceptions.
Is there an application form to submit for enrollment?
Open enrollment for new students will begin November 8, 2024. View our enrollment page for more important dates.
What happens if the number of applications exceeds capacity?
The admissions lottery for the 2025-26 school year will be held on January 6, 2025. If the number of applications exceed capacity for all grades, those students who are not given a seat will be placed on a waitlist respective to their grade. Any additional applications submitted after January 6 will also be placed on the waitlist respective to their grade.
Is anyone given preference in the enrollment process and lottery?
Yes. The following categories of students are given preference during the lottery:
- Students who already have a sibling in the school or admitted to the school
- Students who reside in the Reading Community City School District
- Students who have a parent who is employed by Cincinnati Classical Academy
If I am applying for employment at Cincinnati Classical Academy, will my child be given preference in the lottery?
No. Children of prospective full-time employees will participate in the lottery without the employee priority. The full-time employment priority applies only to those who are already employees of Cincinnati Classical Academy at the time the Lottery is held on January 6.
How will I learn the results of the lottery and know if my student has been offered a seat?
Results of the lottery (including waiting lists by grade) will be available in each applicant’s online account on the Parent Dashboard immediately following the lottery event. Parents will also receive an email with this information. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that CLASSICAL has the most updated contact information (phone, mailing address and email address) for notification purposes. For specific more information about lottery and notification, please visit our Enrollment Process page.
What happens once I am notified that my child has been offered an available seat?
Parents of all students who have been offered an available seat must complete and submit registration forms with valid supporting documents by the deadline communicated by the enrollment manager or the student’s seat will be forfeited to a student on the waiting list.
Will my student have to participate in the lottery each year?
No. Once officially attending, all CLASSICAL students have the opportunity to re-enroll for future years, subject to continued Ohio residency and other academic and disciplinary guidelines as stated in the Family Handbook. Students who do NOT re-enroll by the deadline cannot be guaranteed a seat for the forthcoming school year.
Will the grade-level waiting lists for the current school year carry over into the enrollment period for the following school year?
No. Waiting lists are terminated each academic year and do not carry over. The waiting list is terminated prior to the lottery event for the following school year.
If I have further questions about enrollment and school tours, whom should I contact?
