Dear friends,
It has been a while since we communicated, but we hope our news will be worth the wait. We have been busy with the charter application for Cincinnati Classical Academy and are thrilled to report that it has been approved. This means that Cincinnati Classical Academy is no longer an ambition, but is now a future Ohio public classical school to open in Fall 2022!
Following acceptance into Hillsdale’s BCSI program, and with Hillsdale assistance, CCA submitted an application to St. Aloysius for Ohio charter school sponsorship. After a lengthy process and interview with the Founding Board, the application was approved with a high final score, and a preliminary agreement with St. Aloysius has been signed.
St. Aloysius, located in Cincinnati on Reading Rd, is a nonprofit organization with the mission to help children and families overcome their challenges by providing the education, counseling, and other resources they need to heal and grow. As part of this mission, they are recognized by the State of Ohio as an Educational Service Center with the authority to open new charter schools. St. Al’s contracts with Charter School Specialists (Pickerington, OH) to provide services of monitoring, oversight, and technical assistance to dozens of high-performing charter schools throughout Ohio.
St. Aloysius also sponsors the first Hillsdale BCSI K-12 charter school in Ohio, the Northwest Ohio Classical Academy (NOCA), which opened in Toledo in 2019. NOCA had a very successful first year and has increased their enrollment an impressive 70% this year.
As we move into the winter months, we are initiating a search for the Headmaster position, with an expected start date of September 2021, and we continue our search for a school facility and property. More information will be forthcoming soon.
As always, please stay in touch and let us know if you have questions or suggestions. You can email us at front.office@cincyclassical.org. And do please help spread the word about CCA. Your friends and family can sign up for this newsletter on the school website at www.cincyclassical.org.
Be merry and bright, and stay tuned!
