Mrs. Karen Placke
Art Teacher
- Bachelor of Arts in Art Education | College of Mt. St. Joseph, Cincinnati, OH
- Master of Arts in Art Education | Miami University, Oxford, OH
Expressing ideas, thoughts and feelings using drawing, painting and sculpting tools brings great satisfaction to both young and more accomplished artists. Studying art is an optimum avenue for learning and better understanding history and culture. Mrs. Placke has the pleasure of spending her time directing students as they pursue making and appreciating art. Her students range in age from kindergarten through college and beyond, and she has taught in public, parochial, charter and homeschool settings since graduating in 1984. Mrs. Placke has always called Cincinnati home. She and her husband have raised their family of five on the West side, and now they enjoy the company of many grandchildren. Mrs. Placke has a love of beauty, and strives to recognize the beauty that God has provided for us, and believes that as stewards we are to cooperate with Him in making the world more beautiful. Mrs. Placke’s favorite artists are her students. She looks forward to sharing the art studio with Cincinnati Classical 3rd and 4th graders.
